Mildred was an amazing force, and committed her life's work to the mission of the National Urban League (NUL). As a twenty-eight year veteran with the League, she held several leadership positions and served under three presidents. Her immeasurable dedication earned her many accolades during her time at NUL, but she maintained a humble attitude by remembering the advice of her parents "Be proud of who you are, be grateful for what you have, and always remember to give something back to the community".
She was a generous and dedicated donor who not only gave her time and talent, but also shared her treasure by personally supporting several Urban League campaigns. Upon her passing, she bequeathed a significant gift to the Urban League. She was a gracious leader whose legacy lives on in the work of the Urban League Movement.
As noted by Marc H. Morial, CEO & President, "Mildred was a true blessing to the National Urban League family; her commitment and tireless support of the League will always be greatly appreciated."
